Kia Sportage facelift: Official presentation in Korea and Europe
The Kia Sportage facelift was officially unveiled in Korea on November 4, 2024 and is officially available for pre-order in Kia's home market. This means that the fifth generation of the Sportage gets its general overhaul. At the beginning of June 2025, the new Sportage also celebrated its premiere in Europe.

The facelift mainly overhauls the front and rear sections of the vehicle. At the front, the facelifted model is recognizable by a new bumper, the new LED headlight design and the LED daytime running lights in the so-called Star Map design. Basically, the look at the front is now more vertical. The Sportage looks like a mix of EV9 and Sorento.

The design team has also taken on the side and rear. There are not only new fenders and side strips, but also a new rear bumper and revised taillights. All in all, the changes bring the Sportage up to date with the current state of Kia design.

When it comes to paintwork, customers can choose between eight paint finishes, including the two new Wolf Gray and Heritage Blue. The interior can also be individualised with three different colours.
Kia Sportage Facelift: Interior Design
In addition to the front of the Sportage, the interior was the focus of the facelift. For example, the dashboard has been slightly revised, and a new, two-spoke steering wheel can also be found.
More important are the two screens for instruments and infotainment, which grow to 12.3 inches each depending on the equipment and thus virtually merge into a panorama display. In the base, the screen behind the steering wheel has 4.3 inches. The control of the driving modes and terrain programs has been moved from the center console to the steering wheel for easier operation while driving.

The panoramic screen is slightly tilted towards the driver's seat and is therefore easier to operate. The latest version of the operating system is also intended to support the driver with more accessible operation. The facelift also opens up further assistance and protection systems for the Sportage, such as the 3D camera or a warning system, which now also detects motorcycles and automatically tries to prevent collisions.
Kia Sportage Facelift: Drive
The current Kia Sportage is currently available as a gasoline, diesel, full hybrid and plug-in hybrid. With this, the Korean manufacturer actually covers all wishes. The facelift also offers this wide selection.

There will be four powertrain options in the revised Kia Sportage: a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 150 or 180 hp, a 1.6-liter diesel mild hybrid with 136 hp, a full hybrid with 239 hp and a plug-in hybrid with 288 hp.
Depending on the engine, a manual 6-speed transmission and/or a 6-speed or 7-speed automatic are available. The gasoline engine and the two hybrids are each available with front-wheel drive, but also with all-wheel drive.

In terms of price, as with almost all facelifts, there will probably be a price increase. At the moment, the Sportage is available from 34,690 euros, after the facelift the price should crack the 35,000 euro mark. The cheapest model in Korea starts at the equivalent of around 19,500 euros, a price that will unfortunately not be so good in Europe.
Positive: The plug-in hybrid variant will not be deprived of the top equipment. It will also be available in the cheaper GT-Line and Pure trim levels, which lowers the entry-level price for the plug-in.
